In present due to increasing number of vehicles, construction work and population, incidence of traumatic injuries has increased. Admissions to intensive care units have also increased due to trauma-related issues. Trauma care needs multidisciplinary approach. Medical aspect of trauma is being taken care by physician while anatomical and surgical part is dealt by traumatologist. Various changes in trauma resuscitation, coagulopathy, damage control, complications, and scoring system have been discussed in the present edition. This book contains 46 in 5 sections. Section one focuses impact and economical aspects of trauma. Section has described acute phase management. Section three has highlighted clinical phase in trauma management. Chapter 13 on polytrauma scoring is nicely written. Sections 4 and 5 have brought issues during secondary and tertiary care. Thus, it is important for critical care physicians to understand the basics of medical emergencies in trauma patient. Although this book is mainly on adult trauma, science behind trauma management is common in all ages except some anatomical differences and equipment requirement.
